Another sunny day found us setting off from East Dean car park where Sue lead us through the village then climbing up to Friston Church. From here we turned onto the Crowlink road and after passing through the village we followed a decending and meandering path towards the Seven Sisters clliff edge. On the way we were treated to an amazing display of butterflies feeding on a large Ivy bush, some 20 on one bush alone.
On reaching the cliff path we turned East for a while before climbing back up in the direction of Friston before detouring towards the 'Red Barn' and then down to Birling Gap where a pleasant break for refreshments were had outside the National Trust Cafe.
From here we continued East along the path parallel to the Beachy Head road before climbing up for a short section through woodland before descending to cross the Beachy Head road and a final steep climb up to Cornish farm and a final descent towards the old sheep farm. at this point we emerged onto the Birling Gap to East Dean road for a final flat section back to East Dean car park.
This lovely scenic Ramble in ideal weather was approximately 6 miles.
